September 11, 2013 – Another Job Fair was successfully conducted by the Local Government of General Trias headed by Mayor Antonio “Ony” A. Ferrer through the Public Employment Services Office (PESO) in cooperation with the Gateway Business Park Human Resource Group in General Trias Convention Center last Wednesday, September 11, 2013.
Approximately 569 jobseekers registered and joined the activity, of which 405 are Gentriseños and 164 are from nearby towns. In addition to Gateway Business Park Locator Companies, Coca-Cola, Raquel Pawnshop and JR&R are among the employers that participated. 76 applicants were hired by the end of the activity, while others will undergo further evaluation.
Aside from bridging the physical gap between employers and jobseekers, the Job Fair also served as a one-stop shop for essential government service applications and processes as personnel from the Social Security System (SSS), Pag-Ibig Fund and National Statistics Office also set up their booths for clients. Community Tax Certificate issuance, free blood typing and ECG services were also made available.
